Quality Purchase, Life Easier!
Would I buy it again? Absolutely! This being my second PAL 5200 Submersible Pump from Alpine Corporation in the past 14 years, I am very pleased with my choice and this product. This pump meets the product descriptions given by the manufacture as selling points to purchase this pump, or a like pump from Alpine. The pump is compact, sturdy, and for as long as they have run, I would say well designed. The pump has performed quite satisfactorily producing the power, flow, and lift that I was needing for 3 fountains, while operating very quietly, almost unheard (it is submerged)! Although a relatively clean pond, deer and birds drink from the raised fountains and leave behind their residual effects which pose no problems for the pump. With heavy minerals in our well water (Hard Water), I surmise that my first pump froze up due to a mineral build-up; otherwise, it is likely the pump would still be running. Having had an issue with my pump, I did contact Alpine Corporation’s Customer Service. Their staff, and especially Ms. Delima, have been extremely helpful and considerate. After providing them with pictures and receipt of past purchase, they have responded quickly, professionally, and with consideration for my dilemma. The fact that you can reach someone at Alpine Pumps (email exchange) is reason alone to use their pumps! Great product!

5200 gph model Powerful and great price. Seems well made
The flow rate with the two inch outlet and a three foot lift to the waterfall is fantastic. Great price. Good quality

Durable lasted a cold winter without removing!!
Somehow this pump lasted first season and a cold winter in St. Louis w extreme freeze. I added antifreeze without realizing entire pond filled with water which flushed out the pump and to my surprise it fired right up and working great. Not advised to leave outside in water overWinter freeze like all pumps. But if you do it might still work!

Prepare to protect and to cleaning this pump!
I bought this in 2020 and in 2022 it completely seized up (three seasons). (6 month seasons) If you buy this pump, I suggest you have a regular maintenance routine if your pond or waterfall has debris and well water. If this is running in a completely clean, filtered water system then it is a great pump. Leaves, sticks and other items will clog this pump up quick and your motor will eventually seize up. We have a high metal content well water and it slowly builds up around the inner parts. Not the error of the pump exactly. I had to take it apart often and had take a wire bristle brush on my drill to clean it. I did that 3-4 times a season. You will need to have other filters around this pump to slow the process down from the leaves and sticks. Plan on adding another layer of filtering around the pump to keep the larger debris from building up around the intake housing. If you are the type of person that likes to do nothing and expect things to keep working at peak performance than hire someone to maintain your stuff! Any pump requires some bit of effort. Once you take it apart once, it becomes second nature and quicker each time.

I trust alpine pumps
For price, quality, and longevity. Alpine pumps are the best. I've tried creekstone, aquascape, Danner, and numerous other pond pumps and alpine has always been the best price for gph. Long lasting, powerful and surprisingly quiet.

Good customer service
I bought this product in April 2022 to replace a failed pump for my small waterfall. The flow was better then the original. Now the better flow keeps the water from running on the stone wall behind the waterfall. 2 weeks ago the new Alpine pump failed. It is a tight space where the pump goes so I bought the same pump that day. I got the new one right away installed it and it worked fine. Reading through the paper work I found out it came with a 3 year warranty. I contacted the company and left a voice mail. They also have a text number listed. I got a text back right away from Pattie. She was so helpful. She asked I take a 10 second video of the pump not working a picture of the tag. She said she would get me a new pump did some paper work on her end gave me a ticket number. There was a $30 shipping fee that I paid and the pump was going to be sent out in 3 or 4 days. All this took less then 10 minutes. All done by text. No hanging on the telephone. It was so easy. Pump arrived today and now I have a spare that I should have bought already. Alpine is lucky to have a girl like Pattie.

Powerful pump
This pump was used for a waterfall and was placed in the pond. It is well made, powerful and comes with the attachments that are easy to install. But what is great about this pump is not only the quality but also the price. I am very happy to have made this purchase and would not hesitate to order again.

Great versitile pump
I bought this pump to run my skimmer as a submersible pump and it worked great. Unfortunately my fancy goldfish and resident toads could not fight the current. Thankfully, I was able to convert it to an intake bay and use the same pump as an inline pump. Still runs great. It has only been a couple of months but if it keeps running the way it does I will be very happy with my purchase. The only word of caution I would give (Which cost it one star) is that when I went to use it as an inline pump the threaded piece you have to screw the pipe onto for the intake (The one inside the cage) popped out when I hand tightened it. Luckly I had some JB Waterweld on hand and could glue it back in. This will not be an issue if you use it as a submersible pump. Even with that issue I would still buy this pump again for that price.

Didn’t last 2 weeks :(
This pump started off great, had great flow, but died after less then 2 weeks of operation. Seems to have ceased up. Has been free of debris during operation.
