Surprised at the quality for the price
Sturdy, really non-stick, heat up fast - and weirdly cool off almost instantly. No idea how the latter part works. Kinda cool.Details:I really, don't trust kitchen items that are made by some unknown mass producer on the other side of the planet (you know what I mean). Will they try to cut corners and sneak in some toxins? How would we know? Nobody checks these imports AFAIK. So it's up to us consumers to do the research.I put up with a lot of potential issues with electronics, tools, and so forth - but when it comes to feeding my family, I'm not willing to risk any type of PFOA or other poisons in their bodies by cheaping out and buying dodgy pots and pans.I chose this Michelangelo set because1) claims to be free of PFOA and other toxins2) backs up this claim with certificate here and on their site, and having a good reputation I assume they don't want to ruin by lying3) German company where PFOA and other toxins are illegal so there's a certain health and quality control mindset there that's not necessarily present with certain other brands.I don't know whether these pans are actually MADE in Germany but at this price I guess they're not. Most likely they're just headquartered in Germany and maybe make their most expensive top tier stuff there. I assume cheaper items like these are made in..."overseas".But at least I can hope that the Germans keep an eye on their manufacturing plant in (you know where) and make sure no toxic materials get put in for cost saving reasons (you just KNOW that's happening with some brands, right?)Either way, these pans are surprisingly sturdy, easy to use, food really doesn't stick at all, easy to clean, and they even look nice.Just knowing this is a German/EU company makes me feel better just because much of what's acceptable here in the US and in Asia is banned in the EU. So when this German company makes a public claim that there are no toxic materials, I believe them (even if it's probably made in C.... that place)Favorite part is the price/value ratio on this set. I can't get ONE decent German-made or Japan made pan for twice the price of this set. And I really like how these pans are truly non-stick. I cooked sauces, eggs/omelettes, sausages, veggies, and used various butters and oils - never had to do more than wipe clean with a paper towel. Really cool.Speaking of cool - how on earth do they manage to make these pans cool down so quickly? I've had probably 30 different pans over the years from various manufacturers. For some reason, THIS particular set cools down faster than any of them. I can go from cooking on a hot stove to cool-to-the-touch in about 1 minute. It's not super important but I do appreciate it because it means I can start cleaning up right away.Anyway, hope this helps!

Love this pan. It really is non-stick.
The media could not be loaded. I've had "non-stick" (you can't see me, but I'm totally rolling my eyes right now) pans in the past, that stay non-stick for a minute, and then they aren't anymore. I wanted to get away from Teflon, but I've never had a granite coated pan before. Some of the 1 star reviews scared me, but it seemed like Michaelangelo (the company I bought these from) took care of the customers that weren't happy. However, I am not one of those people. I am beyond thrilled. I make my husband eggs every morning. It's like Groundhog Day. I didn't realize how much I needed these until I didn't have to scrub stuck on egg out of a fry pan every morning. I actually wanted a smaller sized pan, but either they are out of stock, or they don't make them anymore. I ended up getting these two (9-1/2 and 11). I don't use the larger one much (I've only used it once, actually, it's rather large, and two pans won't fit on my burners at the same time if one of them is the 11"), but the smaller of the two I use every day. I waited a couple weeks to see if the coating would chip off, or the non-stick would become non-non-stick, but so far it is as awesome as day one. Now, I read the reviews about treating the pans with kid gloves, and I do. No heat past medium, no dishwasher, and a soft sponge or towel to wipe out only. I don't add cold water to the hot pan, either. I added a video to show how easy it is to flip and pretty the pan is. If I had a wish, it would be for a pan that was maybe 6" instead, for just a couple eggs. Honestly, though, it has helped me enjoy cooking eggs again.

Lasted 5 years
Love the color and nonstick features of my set. Bought in 2019, and will need to replace them now. The larger pan has some brownish discoloration and you can feel the center is rough now, with likely some minor barely visible peeling as the cause. The screw that holds the handle on the pan gets loose every couple uses and is rusted. The smaller pan got more use but is in better shape. Never use super high heat, I cook with a max setting of 6 (out of 10) on an electric stove. The first few years I only hand washed them both and they looked like new, but started putting in the dishwasher every few uses the past year. So idk if using the dishwasher explains the roughness/peeling center of the larger pan and the rusted screw.

Very Pleased!
These pans were delivered on time, packed very securely and arrived in excellent condition. After washing the pans in warm water with a mild dish detergent I dried them thoroughly and then “seasoned” them by adding 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to each pan using a paper towel to wipe the oil evenly around the inside of each pan and then heating each pan on low to medium heat for one minute. I let the pants cool thoroughly and then put them away.I take the time to hand wash each pan, with a sponge, dish cloth or non abrasive scrubber. Although the manufacturer says they are dishwasher safe the harsh dishwasher detergent along with the high pressure and heat from the dishwasher can cause nonstick pans to degrade faster.Personally I like to add a bit of fat to whatever I’m cooking a bit of butter with fried eggs etc. as fat just gives a bit more flavor.I avoid high heat as instructed because nonstick pans are not made to cook with high heat, save the high heat for your cast-iron or stainless pans if you are pan frying steaks, chops, burgers or anything else that requires searing, etc.I love the look of these pans and especially the weight which is not too light but has a solid comfortable feel.If treated with care these pans should last quite awhile. So far so good...
