Already quit working
Wow what a piece of junk, already quit working. Never sounded too good to begin with.

Glitchy controls, fizzy sounding
Volume knob was ultra glitchy. On the "red" overdrive channel, the volume around 10 o'clock barely had any sound. At 12 o'clock LOUD! On the "blue" clean channel the volume was was far lower at 12 o'clock. The treble on the Mooer 015 pedal was very hard to tame, resulting in an overall fizzy sounding high gain overdrive. Don't recommend!

The 014 isn’t much use. Waste of $$
I bought the Preamp (014 Taxidea Taxus) as a spare just in case something happened to my large Moore preamp live. I only used this particular amp sound but the 014 doesn’t even come close to producing the same sound. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed.

Is that a 5150 in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Reviewing Mooer 015 "Brown Sound."Peavey has long been my go-to when it comes to metal tones. I've never felt the need to place a boost in front of the amp's signal, since most of the models I've used had plenty of punch to begin with. I've gotten to know the voice of the 5150 very well. And the last time I heard it speak was through the Mooer 015. This little candy-bar-sized pedal is amazing! It doesn't grant all the tweakability of a 5150 head. Your choices are quite basic: a 3-way EQ (bass, mids, and treble), gain, and master volume. That said, I'll be damned if I wasn't able to dial in exactly what I hear through the real thing. I'm far more than satisfied with the aggressiveness of this pedal's growl. It's got teeth. The clean channel of any Peavey I've used is exactly that: clean. Some have criticized Peavey for this, claiming that it lacks character, but to me that's always been a plus. With nothing to hide behind, with every flub and finger scrape exposed, it's up to the player to give it a personality. It also forces you to improve your playing. I don't see anything wrong with that. (Besides, you can always add reverb or some other flavor by slaving it to another pedal.) The Mooer 015 recreates this faithfully.Oh, and one more thing: when you switch channels, it remembers your tone settings. You're then free to dial in what you want to hear from the channel you're using. This means you don't have to share the same EQ with clean as you use with distortion. That's great for me, since I like to dial in more mids for clean and also use a touch more bass. With this pedal, that's no problem at all. Each time you switch channels, you'll find things sounding just like you left them (even though of course your knobs don't move).Aside from the tonal controls, there's two buttons. One's the old-school and familiar foot switch, and the other lies flatter to the pedal's body.Out of the box, the foot switch simply turns the pedal on or off. You can change this easily by pressing it down for a few seconds, after which it allows for you to use it to swap channels. That's where you'll want it for live use, and it works very well. The flatter button also lets you switch channels--but it also serves to enable/disable cab simulation. This adds functionality to this pedal, since you can use it in your amplifier's FX loop (cab sim off), or as a practice amp through headphones or speakers (cab sim on). As with all of your tone controls, the pedal remembers where you set it. If this button is flashing, cab simulation is on. A solid color indicates that cab simulation is off. Pretty painless stuff. The unit does not ship with a power adapter, mind you. That's okay if you have extra pedal adapters laying around: just make sure they're center-negative, 9V, and at least 300mA. I can also confirm that it works well with a 9V battery-to-2.1mmX5.5mm plug adapter, for those of you who would like to keep things portable. I would have liked to have seen this unit shipped with some method of powering it, but as far as downfalls go, it didn't bother me enough to ding it a star. They did, after all, keep things universal with other pedals you might have. And Mooer does the sonic equivalent of making you dinner... is it worth complaining that it needs to use your dishes? I don't think so.That's it. That's all. Honey, I shrunk the amp head. Now it fits in a pocket.

Decepcionante
