Impressive Performance and Solid Build
So, I picked up the PiBox India USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III Hard Drive Adapter for my Raspberry Pi 4 gig. It looked decent, the cable quality is very good also, but not bad either. But then, things got interesting! 😄UASP (that speedy tech thing) wasn't working, it was using the normal Bulk Only Transfer protocol. The sequential read/write speed was good enough though. So, after going through some posts on the Raspberry Pi forum, I realized that an old firmware may cause the feature not to work. So after some more digging, I found some tools to update the firmware of the adapter. And yeah! After updating the firmware UASP (and TRIM also, which was unexpected) started working perfectly. 😅Kudos to PiBox India for a slick gadget, but here's a tip: new firmware out of the box could save users like me a headache. All said and done, my setup is now zooming, thanks to this little adventure. 🚀💥

Good Product
Good Product in the price range. It was difficult to fix both ends because of new model & old model hard disk. Later I had to break open one side of the old hard disk to fix both ends. Working fine.

Elegant product. Just go for it.
NOTE: This is not a paid review. This is just an honest review about the first impressions. I bought this from the seller: Discount Bazaar India.Build Quality:10/10 - The cable is thick and sturdy. Plastic used for the SATA connector looks strong.Looks:10/10 - Yes, looks does matter to me when it comes to electronics. This connector doesn't look cheap at all. The LEDs enhances the look further.Connectivity:10/10 - I bought this connector to access data stored on my spare laptop HDD. There were no issues in getting my HDD detected by my OS.Data Transfer Speed:10/10 - Rated it 10 as I did get a decent transfer rate of ~52 MB/sec (screenshot attached) for my 10yr old SATA laptop HDD. I had plugged it into my motherboard's USB 3.1 Gen 2 port. However, I can't judge the transfer rates as it's purely subjective and is dependent on the storage media. Didn't try it with an SSD. I'll update the review when I try it out. But overall its really good.Warranty:I got a 15 months extended warranty after I registered my product at their website. Don't know how to claim the warranty though. I hope I don't get to claim it.Verdict:If you're looking for a good quality connector for your SATA drives (2.5 inch HDDs and SSDs only) then this is the one. The product was carefully packed and they even provided a small sling bag to store the connector. It also came with a USB cover, which in my opinion is rare in computer accessories and peripherals. Kudos to the manufacturer as little things do matter (at least to me). Please DO NOT buy this if you want to connect your Desktop Hard Drive (i.e. 3.5 inch HDDs). It won't work. The have a separate connector specifically for 3.5 inch HDDs. They have clearly mentioned in the description.

Did not work with Linux
I tried copying the same folder from the same hard disk attached to this and to another Orico adaptor on two different computers. The same results every time: this adaptor fails and the other adaptor succeeds. Not sure how well it works on Mac/Windows. But I know for sure it doesn't work on Linux. If you use Linux on a PC or an Raspberry Pi, this is not the product you are looking for.

Works like never expected
Great value for money. Protective caps on both ends. Detected instantly both on Ubuntu and Windows. Super fast transfers faster than a pen drive. Solves my issues with having to connect SSD internally and use it between computers. Works to make my SSDs super storage devices.Might buy one more for my other PCUpdate Sept24: SSD crashed. Maybe because large files were being transferred, maybe because several files. Fortunately was able to recover the files using data recovery software. Learned some valuable lessons. #1. Do not cut and paste. Copy paste and verify before deleting the original #2. Copy paste very large files (1gb and above) maximum 2 at a time. #3. Check the adapter often by touching it. If it is warming up Stop! #4. If there are a whole lot of files that need to be transferred it is safer to connect the SSD to the PC directly.

Works with pi 5, but no UASP support natively, have to upgrade firmware to make UASP work
Works with pi 5, but no UASP support natively, have to upgrade firmware to make UASP work.Either seller should not have advertised as UASP support, or he could have updated the firmware before selling. But overall ok product. You can use this to boot from usb in pi 5. But to get UASP speed, you need to update firmware (which is not a straight forward process, but I did and it worked)lsusb -vvv (before firmware upgrade),Bus 002 Device 002: ID 174c:225c ASMedia Technology Inc.
