i’ve used other brands & none work as good as this one!! the pump is SO easy to use! i have a 5 gallon tank & the suction isn’t too fast! it gives me enough time to get debris off the bottom without fully emptying the tank. i am literally so excited that it worked so well. there was basically no mess & it took less than 15 minutes from start to finish.

Luigi’s fish tank cleaner/siphon:Summary: Bare bottom tank 10gal- works great, quick water change, sucks up debris.Sanded bottom 10 gal.- don’t get too close to the sand or it will suck up the sand.Review:I had been using this siphon for over a year now on a 10 gallon bare bottom quarantine tank. Worked well for water changes and removing uneaten food, waste and debris. (At one point I attached a foam paintbrush onto the end of the siphon w/ a rubber band. Worked well to clean the bottom of the glass while the siphon sucked up mostly what ever the foam brush got off the bottom.)I more recently wanted to use the 10 gal. quarantine tank as a grow out tank for Hiplisoma pandas. (I never had to treat the QT tank so i figured I would use the same supplies). After hearing from an expert cory breeder that they should grow up not being on a bare bottom to prevent bottom fin decay, I added sand to the tank when I made the conversion. This siphon still works great for water changes but not so great for trying to vacuum the sand b/c boy does it suck up sand. I know the product is made for gravel per product description. It sucks up less sand if I disturb the sand to get the debris up and keep the siphon an inch or two above the sand. Still sucks up a little but much less than trying to use the siphon to disrupt the top layer of sand.It does suck up water quickly, especially in a smaller tank, but physics and all.When I purchased this siphon it was just under $10, which seems like a good price.This siphon is still going strong at this time.

I have a small 10 gallon microfish tank with small to tiny natural river pebbles and I needed a siphon to maintain the sediment. I already own a very simple siphon that can be kinda cumbersome to use but what I liked about this new siphon is the pump and filter cap.It's very easy to use, easy to clean though my only issue is the circumference of the filter cap. I have lots of live plants and hidey holes for my shrimp and pygmy corys which means I need this siphon to fit into small crevasses without disturbing the surrounding items. A siphon about the half the size of this one with a filter cap would be more ideal for myself. (I sincerely though about using a fishnet sock over my old siphon for a possible similar effect since my old siphon has a more ideal intake tube size. I'll leave pictures for reference).I suppose if I really wanted to be picky, I would also recommend the holes in the filter cap to be slightly smaller as it will pick up very small gravel. It's not the end of the world but a possible improvement. It does very well for surface gravel cleaning but not for tanks that would need a deeper cleaning. Suction is fine. It does suck up a good amount of water in a short amount of time. Hope this was helpful!

Used a few times and works awesome for my 20 gallon freshwater tank. Affordable and simple

This product is very easy to use. It works well for any size of aquarium. This is my second time purchasing them as the first one we accidentally pump a root of a plant inside, it got stuck and broke. To avoid getting the stone or large items inside, please yse the attachment that have the small holes with it to filter them. For cleaning the bottom of the tank, this water pump is very durable and lightweight.

I used this only 3 times. The first 2 times, it worked as expected. After use, it was hung from the middle on a hook so it could dry, the way I have always stored these. The third use, it didn't work. After trying for half an hour, there was a break in one of the seams of the plastic that prevented it from sucking up water properly.

This is one of the better cleaners that I’ve purchased for sure. It doesn’t leak and it pumps out water and particulate from gravel well and fast. So, be prepared for this item to suck out the water from the tank quickly. The size is gray for my 2.6 gallon tank and the item is durable and easy to store. I recommend for at max a 5 gallon tank and nothing less than 2.5 gallons. I am happy with this purchase!
